A list of third-party matched content detected by the Content-ID-system.
Notes:
- “Claim released” means only, that they released the claim for the one video I uploaded. They probably left the song in the filter.
- “Music Publishing Rights Collecting Society” and “One or more music publishing rights collecting societies” are automatic processes; after dispute the claim is released immediately.
- The Harry Fox Agency, Inc. (HFA) is abusing the filter for maximal profit, so they release the claim after 4 weeks or never.
- Everyone else listed here is human; they probably have the same problems with the false-positives as we have.
- Sometimes I had to contact the “copyright holders” directly, because they rejected the dispute. These are marked red.
Feel free to submit your false-positives, you can do that in the comments or via E-Mail. Please add all informations you have. You can find your ongoing Content-ID claims here.

“OneBeat” is claiming rights to the song Protofunk (http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/?keywords=protofunk&Search=Search)
content ID has matched 3 of my videos using that music, 2 they have relinuished their dispute, the third is still ongoing. They have not removed the song from content ID despite trying to contact them manually.
OK, added to the list
Do you know the name of OneBeat’s piece?
Unfortunately I don’t. There are several music organisations under the name “OneBeat” and I’ve tried trawling all their music to find out which song it is, and which organisation it is. I have emailed all of the OneBeats asking if it is them, and to drop the content ID if so. No answer from any of them.
It’s rather annoying as the music is used in the intro to my videos, so they’re going to keep matching the content.
Update: they’ve relinquished the dispute on the third video. no more content ID matches *yet*, so hopefully OneBeat or YouTube have had the sense to remove it from their database.
I linked them to Kevin’s song, Kevin’s licence agreement, and sent them Kevin’s number in case they needed clarification. Let’s hope that’s the last we hear of OneBeat
Update 2: another video using Protofunk has been claimed by OneBeat. Naturally contested it. Will update with more info later.
Ok, they again released claim. No more matches yet and it’s been about a week. *fingers crossed*
This process seems to be too easy to abuse by the big royalty collection agencies. I hope the industry matures to keep up with such ‘new’ innovations as YouTube.com
Royalty Collection Agencies; the true dinosaurs in the music business…..
Indeed, it is being majorly abused. But I think the issue is with YouTube not screening properly, and once X amount of contentID gets contested, maybe they should have an internal review of that company.
Music Video Distributors is claiming copyright to Sunshine version two. It hasn’t been released yet, even though I disputed the claim.
Added to the list. Thank you for your contribution.
Just to update Music Video Distributors has not released their claim to Sunshine Version 2. I disputed the claim over a month ago.
Anything else that I should do? Thanks.
Music Video Distributors also claiming copyright to Sunshine version two in one of my videos but they already released the claim.
